Today's holiday is very interesting and pleasant from the point of view of Spanish tradition. There is no figure of Santa Claus in Spain! There are los Reyes Magos (the Three Wise Men) who bring gifts to children just as many years ago they had brought gold, frankincense and myrrh to Jesus.
On this occasion, on the night of January from 5th to 6th, a retinue of the Three Kings is organized in all cities of Spain. Various figures and constructions pass through the city (e.g. Peter Pan's ship, Smurf house). People are dressed in fairy-tale costumes as well as knights, princesses, fairies, giants, animals, characters, comics and movies. The procession goes through the main streets of the cities and throws sweets to children who stand with their parents on the sidewalks and watch the whole event. There are a lot of performances, acrobatics, circuses, dances, concerts at that time. There are stalls with hot snacks and drinks everywhere. Of course, at the end of the procession are the Three Kings and all the children start screaming from joy (they will get presents soon!).
